An average new laptop computer runs at about 65 watts, whereas a power-hungry laptop can run at more than 100 watts or even higher according to its hardware components.
For example, A typical 17-inch screen notebook with a 2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an ATI graphics card will require around 120 Watts. However, the requirement may vary for different laptops due to the difference in their hardware configurations.
A typical Desktop computer usually uses between 150 to 300 watts. However, there are some computers that may need over 500 watts to work properly. Desktop PCs have more components than laptops and hence require higher power to function correctly.
So what do you think? How many watts does your laptop model and brand use? Do you know?
