Here’s how:
1. Cut open the bag of raw, locally-sourced goat’s milk that you just bought at the farmer’s market. You can use any brand of goat’s milk you like, but there are some that are better than others. I recommend using raw unsweetened goat’s milk if possible, as it’s easier to control the quality of the finished product.
2. Prepare a double boiler by adding a cup or so of water to a saucepan and setting it over medium heat on your stovetop. Put the bowl from step one in the pot and pour in enough milk so that it fills up two thirds of the bowl (about 1/2 gallon). Add about 2 tablespoons of honey for every cup of milk and stir until everything is incorporated into one homogenous mass (you may need to add additional water if necessary).
3. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes while it cools down, then transfer it into an airtight container
Can I add goat milk to my lotion?
The hydrating properties of honey can rejuvenate your skin, making it appear younger! If you have dry skin, apply honey lotion or cream all over your body, or just the areas that need it, to reap the honey’s benefits! In the winter, many of us resort to using lip balms in an attempt to prevent our lips from drying out.
Does goat milk lotion spoil?
It contains lactic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that is commonly used in anti-aging and skincare products. The word “acid” may sound harsh, but it actually works to gently slough off dead skin cells, removing the outermost damaged layers, and exposing the fresh skin beneath.
